Photos from Day 2 of the “Future of Detailing” October 2021 Clinic

As promised, here are photos from Day 2 of the October 2021 “Future of Detailing” clinic. It was quite a day, and although I didn’t get photos of everything, the ones I did get are pretty awesome! Check out photos and some brief descriptions of the class segments shown below:

Prepping the 911 Targa 4S

The day began with a lesson on proper hand washing! Zaia and John from 48 Detailing used the awesome hose and foam cannon system at our detailing studio, Simon’s, during the hands-on demostration. To complete the prep job, the class clayed the vehicle’s finish to ensure any embedded grime was removed prior to correction with NSP Z1. Then it was time for a fast dry with the pressurized air hoses Simon’s keeps at every detailing station.

Nano-Resin Pro on Mercedes C63s

Before things continued on with the 911 Targa, it was time to prep and protect the white Mercedes C63s with NSP 95 and Nano-Resin Pro. Even though white paint (especially paint with a decent amount of texture) doesn’t show scratches as much, it was still important to correct the paint so as to bring out a brighter white than what was previously being seen. Once the correction was done, Zaia led the class in a Nano-Resin Pro demo, which proved to be an interesting install as most of the class had never applied a 100% solids, ultra-thick coating like Pro before. Thankfully everyone got the hang of it pretty quickly and the car ended up looking incredible.

NSP Z1 and Nano LS-10 on 911 Targa 4S

Then it was time to head back to the Targa for a quick 1-step correction followed by protection with the multi-surface ceramic coating Nano LS-10. John plopped down on the driver’s side door of the Targa to demo NSP Z1 and show what kind of results can be achieved with a 1-step primer like NSP Z1. Once the class had a good handle on how Z1 worked, they went hands-on correcting the rest of the vehicle. Chris Metcalf from FLEX was close by at all times to supervise and provide additional instruction, as you can see in the photos below with Luxury Auto Spa’s Jason Brown. Once the Z1 correction was wrapped up, the class got to applying Nano LS-10, which was very breezy to apply — no wonder it’s so popular!

NSP 45 and Nano-Resin on 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 convertible

Richard Roman from Hand and Heart Detailing told us this was his dream car — and he definitely gave it the attention it deserves. The class started with a paintwork correction using NSP 45 (due to the soft nature of the paint). From there, Nano-Resin was applied to the paint to protect the work done. We also applied the reformulated Metal Coat (now with 3-Year durability!) to the chrome.

Matte Paint Coating Pro on Matte Mercedes C63s Edition 1

One of the last projects for the class was applying Matte Paint Coating Pro to a matte C63S Edition 1. Zaia did a great job of breaking down the basics of matte finish care for the class before everyone jumped into the application. The results were incredible, but then again, the car already looked amazing even before the application. So really, it’s just preventative maintenance!

Graduation Ceremony

After the Matte Paint Coating Pro install Chris gave a short leather and microsuede demo on the white C63S, but once that was wrapped up it was time to celebrate what our class had achieved! Everyone received a framed certificate, along with a brimming goodie bag containing all sorts of swag from Dr. Beasley’s and the guest instructors. Many of the students used their $100 Dr. Beasley’s credit (included with tuition) that day, having their orders shipped to them to avoid having to lug anything on the plane.

Thank you and congratulations to everyone that attended, and we can’t wait to meet the next batch of “Future of Detailing” students in January when we head to 48 Detailing in Arizona!
