Big news — the Dr. Beasley’s Vegan Leather Kit is now available for purchase on the Rivian Gear Shop! This means Rivian owners can now obtain care products designed specifically for their vehicle’s vegan leather interior directly from the fine folks at Rivian.
A bit of backstory: Rivian’s online Gear Shop is filled with parts, accessories, swag and more for Rivian owners, but up until now it hasn’t featured any interior care products.
After finding success using our Nano Surface Primer paint correction products at their Service Centers, Rivian chose our Vegan Leather Kit as the inaugural interior care product for the Gear Shop. Needless to say, we’re very proud to be the first!

Dr. Beasley’s Vegan Leather Kit Debuts on Rivian’s Online Gear Shop
CHICAGO, Ill. April 25, 2024 – Rivian today announced the addition of a new interior care kit for vegan leather to its online “Gear Shop”, made by Chicago-based auto detailing product manufacturer Dr. Beasley’s.
Dr. Beasley’s Vegan Leather Kit is a complete cleaning and conditioning system for vegan leather. It consists of two products – Vegan Leather Cleanser and Vegan Leather Conditioner – in addition to microfiber towels and an applicator pad.
The Vegan Leather Kit was formulated by Dr. Beasley’s founder, president and chemist Jim Lafeber to address the unique needs of vegan leathers.
“Overall vegan leather can be delicate, less porous and more rigid than real leather. These qualities make vegan leather prone to wear and drying out. Products for real leather are not formulated to address these differences,” Jim says on the difference between vegan and animal leather.
Mr. Lafeber turned to plant-based ingredients to tailor his formulation for vegan leathers. Vegan Leather Cleanser, for example, uses grapeseed oil as an ingredient to lock in moisture and prevent synthetic leathers from drying out while cleaning.
Vegan Leather Cream, on the other hand, uses a fermented maize extract to open the vegan leather’s pores so it can more readily accept moisture from the conditioner.
Dr. Beasley’s relationship with Rivian began in 2022 when the electric vehicle manufacturer began purchasing the company’s Nano Surface Primer paint correction products for use at Rivian Service Centers.
After finding success with Nano Surface Primers, Rivian approached Dr. Beasley’s with a proposal to carry their new Vegan Leather Kit on their online Gear Shop, providing their customers with dedicated care products for their new vegan leather interiors.
Now the Vegan Leather Kit finally makes its debut on the Gear Shop, exposing a brand new audience to Dr. Beasley’s premium detailing offerings.
With the Vegan Leather Kit now easily accessible to Rivian owners, Mr. Lafeber is confident the products will become a vital part of their interior care routine.
“I own a Rivian R1S myself, and I’ve got young kids. Without these products, my vegan leather would look like a disaster area.”
